Wellbeing Ambassadors
What is a Pupil Wellbeing Ambassador?
Every child needs someone to talk to. However, not everyone has someone. Pupil Wellbeing Ambassadors offer vital child-to-child support
Pupil Wellbeing Ambassadors are pupils who have shown a real interest in championing positive mental health and wellbeing. These pupils are keen to share their learning around mental health and advertise the importance of self-care. The Ambassadors have a responsibility for leading and promoting wellbeing throughout school, they drive the message forward and release the stigma around talking about challenging feelings and encourage people to talk. Wellbeing Ambassadors provide feedback on what is working well and highlight any gaps in whole-school approaches to wellbeing.
So what exactly do they do?
- Meet every half term with PSA to create an action plan for the coming weeks.
- Create ways to improve wellbeing in and around school.
- Provide feedback on what is working well in our school and what may need adapting.
- Wellbeing Wednesday - run lunchtime sessions for pupils to drop into - these could focus on art/sensory activities/relaxation techniques/journaling/mindfulness
- Think of new ideas to raise funds for school, which in turn will promote a positive mind-set.
Every Wednesday, between 12:45 - 1:15 the Wellbeing Ambassadors host 'Wellbeing Wednesday' in the sensory room. This time is for children to share their worries with the trained ambassadors.
