"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity"

John F Kennedy

We aim for all children to develop their physical ability through mastering basic movements and developing their balance, agility and co-ordination. We aim for all children to be able to be physically active for sustained periods of time and lead healthy, active lives. We work closely with outside agencies to provide the children with engaging physical activities and all children are provided with the opportunity to take part in competitions externally within our collaboration and wider.

P.E. is an integral part of our school curriculum. It is taught twice a week with the children having the opportunity to participate in both an indoor and outdoor sessions. The curriculum is carefully planned to ensure progression throughout the year groups, with each year group having focused sports to teach. Swimming is delivered in year 4 at a local swim school. We teach lessons so that pupils have the opportunity to participate in P.E at their own level of development and set themselves personal challenges. Pupils have the opportunity to understand basic rules, understand the knowledge behind the skills, develop good sporting attitudes and experience positive competition.
