RHE

In the academic year 2021/22, Relationships and Health Education became statutory in all primary schools in England.  This subject aims to build on the non-statutory lessons we have previously taught in RSHE.

Following research of different programmes and consultation from parents and governors, the school now follows the Life to the Full Plus programme offered by 'Ten Ten'. As a Catholic school, our mission is to support the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all of our pupils, rooted in the wisdom and teaching of the Church. The Life to the Full programme supports the school in teaching the RSHE curriculum in line with Catholic teaching and in partnership with parents.

Parents and governors were consulted before the implementation of the curriculum. Information was shared about the content and language that may be used across the programme in each year group and the login details for the parent portal on the 'Ten Ten' website was sent out to parents. The log in details for the parent portal can also be found on this page of the website.

About Ten Ten

Life to the Full is a fully resourced Scheme of Work in Relationships and Health Education (RHE) for Catholic primary schools, which embraces and fulfils the statutory curriculum. Taught with a spiral approach to learning, where pupils will revisit the same topics at an age-appropriate stage throughout their school life, the programme includes teaching about personal health, physical and emotional wellbeing, strong emotions, private parts of the body, personal relationships, family structures, trusted adults, growing bodies, puberty, periods, life cycles, the dangers of social media, where babies come from, an understanding of the Common Good and living in the wider world. The entire teaching is underpinned with a religious understanding that our deepest identity is as a child of God – created, chosen and loved by God. The programme is fully inclusive of all pupils and their families.
