Tiny Tots - Stay and Play
We were inspired by St Valentine’s Day for this half term’s Tiny Tots Stay and Play session. We enjoyed heart themed crafts, making love monsters in the dough and the workshop. We iced and decorated biscuits for a take home snack. At the end of the session we sat together for a short song and rhyme time to celebrate the love we have for our families. We sang ’Daddy finger’ as well as other favourite nursery rhymes. Each child took home playdough ideas, a playdough gift box and a simple song to sing with families as home. Thank you to everyone who took part today. Please join us again for our next session on Tuesday 7th April 2020 at 2.00pm.
Our Tiny Tots Stay and Play session for this half term was themed around Christmas crafts. The children enjoyed decorating Christmas trees, making reindeer antlers and creating sparkly golden stars. We sat together for a song and rhyme session where we sang ‘Twinkle twinkle little star’ and ‘Rudolph the red nosed reindeer’. The children took home nativity stickers and a simple nativity story to share with their families. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We wish you all a happy and holy Christmas.
Please join us again in the new year on Tuesday 11th February at 2.00pm.
Our first Tiny Tots Stay and Play of this academic year was a huge success. It was lovely to welcome some new little ones to the group and what a surprise to see how much our familiar children have grown this summer! We explored the season of autumn by finger painting autumn leaves, engaging in sensory play with dried peas, beans and pulses and scooping out a giant pumpkin. We sat together to share a song and rhyme time and the children enjoyed learning the number rhyme ‘5 little leaves’.
The children each took home a selection of craft materials and an information sheet to suggest possible autumn inspired crafts.
Thank you to everyone who took part. Please join us again on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 at 2.00pm.
Our Tiny Tots Stay and Play sessions have been a huge success again this year. It has been lovely to see the children grow and then enter our nursery with such confidence. We have places available for next year. Children from birth to the age of 3 years are welcome to join us. They need to be accompanied by an adult (parents, grandparents, friends of the family etc are all welcome). Come along and give it a try, we promise you will love it.

We took advantage of the lovely summer weather to explore physical development outdoors. The children loved the opportunity to play in our outdoor classroom. We enjoyed using our fine motor skills to explore the sand kitchen and the water wall. We used gross motor skills to ride bikes, build with large blocks and climb on our climbing wall. We sat together for songs and rhymes and the children enjoyed making music together. They each took home a soft ball and a new rhyme:
Throw a ball
Catch a ball
You to me
Throw a ball
Catch a ball
Thank you to everyone who took part. It was lovely to see some new faces joining us. We said goodbye to some of our older children who are leaving our Tiny Tots sessions as they graduate into our nursery. Our next session is on Tuesday 15th October at 2.00pm. We hope to see you there.

This half terms session was themed around teddy bears. We enjoyed paying ‘Where’s the bear?’ following trails to find the hidden teddies. We made bear masks and bear flags before enjoying a little teddy bears picnic together. The children took home a copy of the nursery rhyme ‘Teddy bear, teddy bear’ and a simple prayer:
I love God
He cares for me
God bless my teddy
And God bless me.
We were delighted to welcome and children and their families into nursery today. Please join us again for our next stay and play session on Tuesday 2nd July 2019 at 2.00pm.
02.04.19 Tiny Tots Stay and Play
We held a flower themed Stay and Play session for the spring term. The children decorated a plant pot each and took home a small bag of compost, a sunflower seed and instructions for how to care for it. They also got a little chick surprise. We learnt a sunflower rhyme:
Bright yellow sunflower
Growing in a pot
Tiny as can be.
Bright yellow sunflower
Soon it will go POP
And grow as big as me!
Thank you to everyone who came along and took part. Our next Stay and Play session will be on Tuesday 7th of May 2019 at 2.00pm.
12.02.19 Tiny Tots Stay and Play
As we approached St Valentines Day we explored sensory play opportunities through a heart themed workshop. The children had the opportunity to explore pink dough, to decorate a heart for a loved one and to create a peg person. We added loveheart sweets to the water tray to create scented water and we worked together to make our own loveheart shaped jam sandwich.
We sat together for a short song and rhyme time to conclude the session. The children took part in dough gym and were encouraged to poke, roll and squeeze the dough as they learnt the rhyme -
‘I like to squeeze bananas
I like to squeeze ripe plums
But when I’m feeling sad and scared
I love to squeeze my Mum’.
Each family took home a free resource of pink dough, a copy of the rhyme and an information sheet about sensory play with additional sensory play ideas. It was lovely to see some new faces joining us this time. Thank you to everyone who took part. Please join us again for our next session on Tuesday 2nd April at 2.00pm.

Our Tiny Tots session was themed around stars this half term. The children explored advent and enjoyed making and tasting star cookies. They also made a twinkling star decoration to take home. We provided a dark den and torches as well a variety of percussion instruments for exploring sound. We sat together at the end of the session to sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little star’ and to play a hide and seek game with a star puppet. Each family took home a copy of the song and game to enjoy at home. Thank you so much to everyone who joined us. Please join us again for our next session on Tuesday 12th February at 2.00pm.
