Dear Families,

My name is Charlotte Wood and I am your Parent Support Advisor and Pupil Wellbeing Officer here at Holy Rood Catholic Primary School. Having worked in education over the past nine years and here at Holy Rood for the past three years, I have a wealth of experience of supporting children and families.

As your Parent Support Advisor, my role is to support you as parents/carers to help your children gain as much as possible from their school life.

Parenting is not an easy job and we can be faced with many challenges – homework can be daunting, finances are often stretched to the limit and problematic behaviour can be very upsetting. I am here to help you deal with any worries or concerns you may have about your child and to help you tackle any home issues that are making school life difficult for you and your family. If I cannot help you, I can refer you to specialist agencies or support services if you wish.

In addition, I will be supporting your children in school with any social, emotional or mental health issues they may be experiencing, which could be impacting upon their learning and therefore their school life. Group work and interventions will aim to support and encourage the children to build resilience, a strong sense of wellbeing, self-esteem and self-worth.

I am available for a quick chat on the playground before and after school Monday –Thursday. Please contact the main school office should you wish to arrange an appointment with me.
