The whole school completed activities around mental health this week.

Safer Internet Day 2024

At Holy Rood, online safety is a top priority! In an ever changing world, technology is becoming more engaging, exciting and helpful to our everyday lives. However, with this, online safety becomes a bigger worry and priority for lots of parents and carers.

We ensure that we celebrate Safer Internet Day every single year to give the children the tools to navigate the online world safely, happily and responsibly. We started the day with a whole school assembly and then each year group completed an afternoon of activities to help them celebrate and enjoy the day whilst learning a variety of skills for online use.

Carols Around The Tree

Right before we broke up for the Christmas break, we held our first ever ‘Carols around the Christmas Tree’ event. It was so wonderful to see staff and families together singing along. We may have also enjoyed a mulled wine and mince pie! We are already planning the next one.

Year 6 African Drumming Workshop

Year 6 took part in a fantastic African drumming workshop led by Barnsley Youth Choir today.

Elf Run 2023

KS2 had a brilliant time at the Elf Run raising money for Barnsley Hospice. 

Rudolph Run

Year 2 had a fantastic time at the Rudolph Run! 

Christmas Fayre

The Christmas Fayre this year was a great success! There were games, face painting, crafts and the wonderful Christmas Café. Father Christmas was even able to squeeze us in to his very busy schedule!

Anti-bullying week 2023

To celebrate Anti Bullying week this week classes were paired up to make a noise about bullying. They created work for the display.
